How to publish a Claude artifact straight from Claude
Skip the copy-paste. Publish an artifact to a tracked link from inside Claude.
4 min read · Updated 2026-06-22Connect the Indy connector in Claude (Settings → Connectors), then ask Claude to publish your artifact to Indy. Claude hands the HTML to Indy and you get back a gated, email-verified link you can send and track — without copying HTML, hosting anything, or leaving the conversation. It's free for your first three artifacts.
Why publish from Claude directly
When Claude finishes an artifact — a deck, a one-pager, an interactive demo — the usual next step is clumsy: copy the HTML, find somewhere to host it, paste a raw link into an email, and lose any idea of who opened it. Publishing straight from Claude removes every one of those steps.
Indy connects to Claude over MCP — the Model Context Protocol, the open standard Claude uses to talk to external tools. Once connected, publishing is just part of the conversation.
Connect Indy to Claude (one time)
- Sign in to Indy (free) and open Settings → Integrations to find the Claude connector details.
- In Claude, add Indy as a connector / MCP server and authorize it — Claude links to your Indy workspace.
- That's it. The connection persists, so future artifacts publish in a single step.
Publish in one step
With the connector active, ask Claude to publish the artifact you just made — for example, "publish this to Indy and give me a shareable link." Claude sends the artifact to your workspace and Indy returns a hosted, gated URL.
From there you do what you'd do with any Indy link: add recipients by email, allow a whole domain, set an expiry, and watch opens roll in.
What you get back
- A hosted link — no deploy, no CMS, no raw file.
- Email-gated access, so every view is tied to a real person instead of an anonymous URL.
- A per-recipient open timeline, a heat score, and forward detection — you see who actually engaged.
- A stable URL you can update later by republishing a new version.
FAQ
Do I need a paid plan to publish from Claude?
No. The connector works on the free plan, which includes your first three hosted artifacts. Paid plans raise the limit and remove the "Powered by Indy" badge.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard Claude uses to connect to external tools and data. Indy exposes a connector over MCP so Claude can publish artifacts to your workspace securely.
Is the published artifact public?
No. By default every Indy link is email-gated — recipients verify once before viewing, and you can allowlist a domain, set an expiry, or revoke access at any time.
